Strange to imagine, but a selection of Hilton hotels and National Trust properties
were temporarily located in Ardeley, North Hertfordshire
in late August. Amidst a period of rain, sleet and general
pseudo summertime, a rare sunny afternoon blessed the tiny
rural village as The MotivAction Group plc held their annual
Venue Exhibition Day.
With
a purpose to build foundations for future projects and events,
117 representatives from 69 hotels and venues descended upon
MotivAction’s site from as far a field as Belfast. Providing
a perfect opportunity to network and exchange ideas, venues
showcased themselves and met with MotivAction staff in addition
to top company clients - including FTSE 100 delegates.
Far
from being a stale business affair, a barbeque laid on by
Welwyn’s Tewin Bury Farm and selection of MotivAction casino
games kept the atmosphere animated. There was even a marquee
housing an Elvis statue amongst a forest of vines, plants
and renaissance style props. One lucky representative was
assured a fleece in a prize draw using the many business
cards bandied about on the day, and to prove that high class
hotel executives still like a good laugh; attendees took
to the 170 acre farm site on a convoy of quad bikes to take
part in some of the many activities MotivAction have to offer.
Feedback
from the day was particularly positive, with Chris D’Arcy
from DeVere hotels commenting; “I just wanted to say a big
thank you for inviting us along yesterday, we had a great
time. You have a great team - and very friendly! As a hotel,
we would not hesitate to push MotivAction for any team building
activities or themed parties.”
With
partnerships between MotivAction, clients and venues being
forged and strengthened, the potential value of the occasion
is unquantifiable. The quad bikes weren’t bad either...
