For the third year in a row, MotivAction celebrated success at the annual Corporate
Event Association Awards, winning the 'Best New Event' category.
The Award was presented at a gala dinner, held at the Royal
Hospital Gardens in Chelsea.
Tim
Waygood, commented 'We have a great track record at the CEA
Awards, this being our 6th win in 9 years. I am particularly
thrilled we have won 'Best New Event', as it recognises the
creativity of our outstanding team and proves that we continue
to exceed our clients' expectations'.
The
winning event, entitled 'Sharing the Future now...' was created
for T-Mobile Retail, who wanted to effect a culture change
and create new ways of thinking among their staff.
The
unique two day experience transported 200 people in 10 teams
to 10 secret locations in Europe, including Germany, Luxembourg
and the Netherlands. Teams then embarked on GPS supported
journeys across Europe to find the secret location of their
conference. The only means of communicating with other teams
was via T-Mobile communications devices, which were awarded
on completion of a variety of team challenges en-route. The
challenges promoted new ways of thinking and questioned old
behaviour.
As
they moved closer to the conference location, 10 teams merged
into 3 and upon arrival in Brussels, they became one united
team.
Management
and store support staff were on hand to help with the challenges
and guide teams to the secret conference location. Some were
'out in the field' -shadowing the teams and disguised as
characters such as cheerleaders, schoolgirls, French lieutenants
and phantoms. This was to prove that without their necessarily
being aware of it, the management team were with them every
step of the way. Identities were revealed in a video of the
day shown at an Awards Dinner that evening.
A
conference on the second day discussed what had been learnt
throughout day one's fun, and highlighed the way forward
for the company.
